🌐 File Sharing Between Mac and Windows: The Tahoe Way
So you’ve got a Mac and maybe a Windows PC in your life — whether for work, gaming, or storage. With MacHQ’s update of macOS Tahoe, transferring files between both platforms is more streamlined than ever. Here’s your guide to making mixed-system workflows smoother and more flexible
🔍 Why It Matters for You
-
With SMB file sharing now clearly supported, your Mac can talk to Windows PCs directly — no extra apps needed.
-
Fusing platforms means you can use an old PC as a file store and your Mac for work, or vice-versa — maximizing value out of your gear.
-
At ReMacHQ we believe in building setups that are cost-efficient, flexible, and built to last.
🛠 Quick Setup Guide
Windows → Mac: Enable sharing on the PC, right-click folder → Share, then connect on Mac via Finder → Connect to Server → smb://… and authenticate.
Mac → Windows: On your Mac enable File Sharing (System Settings → General → Sharing), tick “Share using SMB,” then go on your PC to Network, find the Mac and log in.
Make sure you’re on the same network and using correct credentials or workgroup names.
